About the program


“Techo Comunidad” is the program that gave rise to the Foundation. The goal is for families with less resources to have access to decent housing, a safe neighborhood and a sustainable community.

The program is aimed at low-income families that lack their own housing, are housing projects developed with the methodology of self-production of housing, promote community participation in the management, design, organization and construction of the project, which gives them greater sense of belonging and pride for achievements, and they are also trained to obtain resources for the project, make an impact in their neighborhood and ensure the sustainability of their community.



2018 PROJECTS


In 2019 we developed more than 10 projects for around 700 low-income families, located in 6 provinces of the country. Many of these families are confirmed by heads of household, older adults and people with disabilities.

In addition, some of these projects include the care of families with an emergency declaration due to natural disaster or risk.

REQUIREMENTS


Participation requirements:

  1. Families with commitment to:

Organize and participate in different tasks related to: training, participation in construction activities and the management of individual and group resources. For the experience of values ​​in favor of community integration and respect for the rights of people. Accept the conditions of FUPROVI, providing the data and documents in the requested time and form. Mature personal savings, for which the head of the family must open a term savings account in an authorized financial institution of the National Housing Financial System, preferably it must be selected by common agreement of the members of the Association for Housing.

  1. Violence, drug trafficking and citizen insecurity behaviors are not compatible with the philosophy of housing projects that FUPROVI develops.
  2. With sensitivity and willingness to develop environmentally friendly practices.

Requirements of the National Financial System for Housing to opt for the Family Housing Bonus (Requirements for all members of the family nucleus).

  1. Not having obtained a housing bond, being of legal age.
  2. To constitute a family nucleus: up to third degree of consanguinity. Examples: Mother-children, Father-children, Uncle / nieces, Grandmother / grandchildren, Brothers, Cousins, mom-dad-children, etc. Alone people are only allowed seniors.
  3. Have no property or rights to a property.
  4. Have a family income equal to or less than 6 minimum wages (less than ₡ 1,569,477) / If you are going to apply a special (full) bonus, family income must not exceed ₡ 392,369 colones.
  5. Have legal aptitude (Related to marital status). People in free union must have 3 or more years of living together and be divorced, single or widowed. If they are married to other people, the time of cohabitation in free union begins to take effect from the day they sign the divorce.
  6. Foreign people (adults or minors) may opt for the housing bonus provided they have the current residence card.

 

Requirements for Organized Groups

  1. Association for housing with legal status in force.
  2. All members of the Board of Directors of the Association and other Associates must be direct beneficiaries of the housing project since they need to resolve their housing situation.
  3. That they are willing to sign a collective agreement with FUPROVI and facilitate, in agreement with the group, the signing of individual contracts with their affiliates.
  4. The group must be made up of families that come from the same canton.
  5. With commitment to:
    • Participate in the voluntary training process of the members of the Board of Directors and the Commissions that are necessary to execute the housing project • Facilitate the process of technical assistance, advice and training provided by FUPROVI. • Comply with the voluntary participation plan according to the construction activities agreed between the group and FUPROVI • Organize and control the voluntary participation of each member • Comply with the health and safety regulations established in the construction phase of the project housing • Work, meet and abide by the rules of basic coexistence from the beginning of work with the group.
